The new Corporate Headquarters of EDP Group is located in Cais do Sodré, in Lisbon, between the D. Luís I Street, the 24 Julho Avenue and the Boqueirão de Ferreiros Street.
The project is undertaken by the architecture office Aires Mateus e Associados and consists of two office buildings, connected with a walkway (Figure 1).
The design process of the building of the new Corporate Headquarters of EDP Group, located at 24 Julho Avenue, in Lisbon, was based on assumptions and environmental standards of LEED and LiderA systems.
For this purpose, a certification strategy (master plan) was established in collaboration with the construction owner and other stakeholders involved in the process, selecting the LEED and LiderA measures that best suited the project’s local, social, and economic characteristics.
These measures were embedded in the architecture projects and other specialities from the beginning of the process (planning and previous study), consolidated in the execution of projects, extended to the construction phase and implemented in the building’s operational phase. It’s also important to highlight the creation of mechanisms to assess occupant satisfaction (e.g., satisfaction questionnaires) to be implemented during building operation.
Thus, the new Corporate Headquarters of EDP Group was designed to meet the demands of comfort and quality for its users, without neglecting aspects related to good environmental performance and practices. Among the aspects with best performance stands out territorial enhancement, landscape integration, consumption of drinking water, access to public transportation, inclusive solutions, control of natural hazards and environmental management systems
